SLOW FOOD BRINGS TOGETHER PLEASURE AND RESPONSIBILITY

Join us for our first Slow Food Brisbane meeting of 2017: Thursday, March 2nd at 7 pm (7.00-9.30), St Paschal’s Church, 30 Warraba Avenue, Wavell Heights, 4012.

STINGLESS NATIVE BEES AND THEIR HONEY PRODUCTION

From Flowers                              To Hive                                      To Honey

Guest Speaker: Ross West

This evening promises to be fascinating, informative and very enjoyable. All that you might have wanted to ask about the importance of the tiny stingless native bees will be revealed by one of our Slow Food members, a hobby farmer and agricultural expert in fruit and vegetables, Ross West.  Ross is a beekeeper and has been a life long enthusiast of bees and their honey production. His passion for bees started at Corinda High School; he continued his interest in bees at Gatton College where he received the Duke of Edinburgh Award for beekeeping. He has worked in the department of primary industries and AQIS* specializing in import and export inspections of fruit and vegetables. He is still involved in this work as a consultant. Ross really is inspirational.

Ross’s talk will be followed by a supper of simply delicious tastes and a glass of wine. The newly formed committee look forward to meeting and welcoming existing members, getting to know new members and spreading the Slow Food message to all interested people. Invite your friends. If you would like to know more please call 0408 637 791 or 0447 110 004

Hope to see you there.
