Saturday 21st July, 2018 – Mary-Anne Fraser, long-time member of Slow Food Brisbane attended the Regional Flavours Food Festival at Southbank, Brisbane.
At the Piazza, noted Chefs demonstrated simple ideas for everyday people. Miguel Maestro was very entertaining.
A comprehensive, and very helpful, programme was handed out which made finding the various producers and regions easier in the very large crowds.
Gympie had a large regional presence covering several camel products including a quite delicious Camel Tagine.
The Lockyer Valley regional also had some interesting producer stalls including the Awassi Cheesery from Grantham.
Regarding Slow Food, it was interesting to find that most people had not heard of Slow Food and what it means. In fact, only 4 people out of 50 had even heard of our group.
