Twilight dinner setting Felton Food Festival, biodiversity at its best…

Felton Food Festival – 25/26 March. Slow Food Brisbane was represented by Leader Noelene and Ian McBride and Committee member. Mary-Anne Fraser as well as slow food members, Barbara and Ross West, Tricia and Ron Moore and Karen and Bruce White and friend Lisa Acret. On Saturday night we attended the Twilight Dinner, welcomed by Costa Georgalis and a glass of Kingsley Grove Estate bubbly and delicious canapes. A truly amazing dinner of local produce prepared by effervescent Chef Alastair McLeod from Al Fresco Catering. Beautifully set tables set the scene for delicious Southbrook Lamb racks, Felton Angus Beef and 9Dorf Chicken. Four interesting salads complemented superbly cooked local produce. Followed by selection of sweet treats by Impressions on Scott. Costa and Alastair’s banter was a highlight making the night very special in a rural setting at twilight. Sunday 7am we set off to prepare for the presentations by Noelene and Ian, which highlighted the importance of SlowFood and supporting local producers in a positive way. In our specially constructed shelter and information centre there were also demonstrations of Fermenting Food and Soughdough Bread Making. the Committee handed out information leaflets and explained Slow Food ideals. The whole Festival was well organised and many thousands of excited patrons attended.
