Slow Food Brisbane and the Dante Alighieri Society of Brisbane Invite Slow Food Brisbane members to a Traditional Ligurian Pranzo di Ferragosto

Alex wants us to taste some of the specialities of his home region of Liguria, that narrow ribbon of spectacular country between the mountains and the sea.
For antipasto we will try three of the famous “snacks” of Genova:
- Frisceu Genovese– which is a deep-fried treat flavoured with herbs.
- Focaccia alla Genovese– Famous throughout the world, but it is hard to find a traditional one. Given Presidia protection by Slow Food. Served with cheese in the style of the town of Recco.
- Farinata Genovese – The iconic street food of Genova made from chickpea flour.
For the primo we will have handmade gnocchi with Pesto di Prà. Prà is the place where they grow the special Prà basil which makes the genuine pesto alla Genovese. They have been making it for over 200 years and la Lanterna imports it specially.
The desert will also be Ligurian.
As for the wines (glasses will be 80ml, the wines we serve are biological organic imported from Liguria and Sardinia)
With the antipasto we will be serving a glass of Pigato, With the main we will be serving a glass of Rossese, With the dessert a small glass of Moscato di CagliariParagraph
Because la Lanterna is small we are limited to 45 guests and members will be given preference.
